A Peaceful Off Season

Friends,

Town is dead right now and we mean that in the best way possible. April in Telluride is about as quiet as it gets. The ski area is closed, summer’s not quite here yet (it snowed last week), and most days you can walk around Colorado Ave or the Mountain Village Core and barely see a soul.

Real estate activity has slowed as well, which is no surprise. Not too many folks are in town looking at real estate after the snow melts and the lifts stop turning. With that said, we had a solid end to the winter season — more activity than expected in February and March — and we think that same energy will carry over into summer.

Summer is when this market really starts to move. Festival season is busier than ski season for sales, which surprises people who think we’re just a ski town. We typically start seeing more inventory come on in June and July as buyers begin to circle. So, if you want to be ready for that window, now is the time to think about paint touch-ups, landscaping, decluttering, etc. – all the little things that makes a real difference when it comes time to sell.

On our end, we’re using the quiet to get after it outside before the craziness starts. Got out to Moab for some riding last week and we’ve had the Jud Weibe all to ourselves.

Anyway — if you want to talk about the market, your property, or just what’s going on in town, you know where to find us.

Happy off season!
