Area Guide
Elk Run
Elk Run is a low-density gated mountain subdivision on Turkey Creek Mesa, about a 10-minute drive south of Mountain Village and the Telluride Ski Resort. With a total of 30 lots, 15 already built out, Elk Run offers its own water system, a trail network, and true privacy in every sense of the word. Established in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the community is known for heavily forested home sites (roughly 4 to 7 acres) surrounded by aspen and spruce groves. The homes here are designed in luxury mountain style to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape, preserve surrounding timber, and frame outstanding views of the San Sophia Ridge and Wilson Peak. Situated within the broader Turkey Creek Mesa luxury corridor alongside enclaves such as the Ski Ranches, West Meadows, and The Preserve, the area also has deep history. Before the modern subdivision, it was used seasonally by the Ute people for hunting elk and deer, long before mining activity reshaped the Telluride valley.
