Telluride Ski Ranches

The Telluride Ski Ranches, often referred to simply as the Ski Ranches, is a well-established, heavily wooded residential community on Turkey Creek Mesa, just southwest of Mountain Village and the Telluride Ski Resort. Offering a quieter, more rustic mountain lifestyle, the neighborhood blends forest living with convenient access to world-class skiing and local amenities. Conveniently located with two entrances off Highway 145, it's about five minutes to Mountain Village markets, dining, and the free gondola, and roughly ten minutes to downtown Telluride. Despite the name, it's not strictly ski-in/ski-out, while some residents use skis or snowshoes to reach outer trails, day-to-day skiing typically involves a very short drive to the lifts or Mountain Village parking. The community also features well-maintained, fully paved roads, designed for reliable access through heavy winter snow.

Set within approximately 200 parcels, properties are generally sized around 1 to 2 acres, tucked into dense stands of aspen and evergreen for excellent privacy. Depending on lot topography and tree clearing, many homes enjoy dramatic views of the San Sophia Ridge, the Wilson Range, or even the ski mountain itself. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Ski Ranches also maintains an internal trail network for hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian use. From a real estate perspective, the Ski Ranches is widely viewed as a more attainable entry point into the Telluride single-family home market, often more cost-effective than neighboring luxury enclaves like the Preserve or slopeside Mountain Village. Home values commonly range from just under $2 million for older or more modest properties up to $6+ million for newer luxury builds.
